Regional Collaboration at the Struktol Antifoam Workshop in Bangkok

Designed as a hybrid event to maximise reach, the workshop focused on building technical capabilities and fostering cross-country knowledge exchange in antifoam applications across several key industries: potato processing, fermentation, paper, and plastic recycling.

Strength in Diversity

One of the workshop’s highlights was the diverse market knowledge shared across countries. Thailand brought expertise in sweeteners, Indonesia shared insights on paper production, and the Philippines contributed learnings from the bioethanol industry. This collaborative setting created a dynamic “knowledge marketplace” where participants could explore real use cases and market-specific challenges.

Hands-On at the Regional Coating Innovation Center

The team then moved to the Regional Coating Innovation Center (RCIC) for hands-on formulation trials. Participants worked directly with product specialists to understand how to select the most effective antifoam solutions for specific applications. The session also explored customer success factors—what makes a solution truly work in real-world scenarios, and how to pre-empt challenges.

Factory Tour – From Theory to Practice

To round out the learning, participants visited the production facility of W.G.C., a local sweetener manufacturer. There, they observed the antifoam application process live on the production floor and engaged in deep-dive discussions about the customer’s operational goals, product selection criteria, and efficiency gains.

This immersive experience not only reinforced technical knowledge but also inspired participants to think about how similar solutions might be replicated or adapted in their own local markets.
